EMU Academics’ Project Receives Great Support From Tubitak

The research project titled “Belleğin Kimlikle Özdeşleşme ve Gruplar Arası Tutumlara Etkisi” (The Effect of Memory on Identity Formation and Intergroup Attitudes) carried out by Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Arts and Sciences Faculty, Department of Psychology academic staff members Prof. Dr. Şenel Hüsnü Raman, Assist. Prof. Dr. Şerif Türkkal Yenigüç and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayşenur Talat Zrilli under the coordination of Assist. Prof. Dr. Burcu Kaya Kızılöz has been entitled to receive TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye) support within the scope of 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program.

The 3-year long bi-communal project will investigate how autobiographical memories transmitted across generations impact attitudes toward reconciliation and potential peace agreements. Dr. Pınar Kurdoğlu Ersoy will serve as a postdoctoral researcher on the project, and a master’s student will be included as a scholarship recipient.

With a preparatory period lasting about a year before the application, the said project has been approved for full funding and has a budget of 1,537,000 TL.
