The 9th International Conference on Gender Studies organized by the Eastern Mediterranean University Center for Women Studies (EMU-CWS) will take place on 3-4 April 2025 at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center (KÜKOM). The conference seeks to unite academics, researchers, activists, and students to offer insights on contemporary trends and upcoming challenges in the fields of gender and gender studies.
Conference Accepts Papers on Various Topics
The conference accepts papers on various topics such as the historical development of gender, feminism theories, social identity theories, men studies and, the relation of gender with power and politics. As part of the conference, presentations on various topics will be made, including safeguarding gender equality against the rise of authoritarianism after COVID, LGBTI+ rights, legal struggles, gender portrayals in literature, cinema, and the arts, as well as the intersection of gender with race, class, ethnicity, sexuality, and disability. Furthermore, sessions will focus on future social resistance, activism, and the fight against gender-based violence, while also addressing key health issues like access to healthcare for transgender individuals.
Contributions of EMU-CWS and Woman 2000 Journal to be acknowledged
Within the scope of the event, EMU-CWS and Woman 200 Journal’s contributions to the society and academia will be acknowledged and appreciated. This event will offer an important opportunity for a diverse group of participants to connect.
