Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School (FLEPS) academic staff member Assist. Prof. Dr. Nafia Akdeniz was awarded with 2024 Early-Career Researcher Prize granted by Journal of Refugee Studies published by Oxford University Press.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Akdeniz received the said prize with her article titled “Hope in the Ruins of Home: Narrative Meaning-Making of Forced Displacement, Place Attachment and Deferred Future Resettlement in Varosha”. The said article offers a valuable contribution to the field by exploring in depth the issue of forced displacement, the sense of belonging of individuals, and their aspirations for the future.
